Absolutely. We are continually developing new ways of being more environmentally friendly and with each successive generation there is better awareness of the need to protect our environment.

For sure! I think this generation are amazing and are really taking a stand for our planet and are not scared to stand up for what they believe in. Greta Thunberg – a 15 year old girl has been nominated for a Nobel Prize this year for her work on climate change – which is pretty awesome!

Definitely – we have to work at it but with the changes in attitude (especially being seen at youth level), advocacy and advances in research and tech I am optimistic!

This generation absolutely has the intelligence, resources, education, and common sense to safeguard our planet for future generations. However, this objective is not the responsibility of one generation; all generations need to be engaged with this issue and in some ways this is more of a political challenge than an environmental one. Sometimes I also feel that more developed nations attempt to patronise developing countries with respect to how their resources are exploited, and there’s been much hyprocrisy rearing its ugly head lately (usually from politicians who like to think they have a stronger moral compass, but struggle just as much as everyone else in reducing their carbon foot print). One of the greatest threats to the future of the planet is poor cooperation across nations globally, and even worse, political instability. If we are going to crack this challenge we need to work together. Knowledge is power – if you care deeply about this issue, contribute to the research that is trying to understand it, and use the evidence to engage others around you.

Yes, I think it is possible. We just have to ALL work really hard to help each other save our planet. There are lots of ways we can do this. We can do lots of little things that, when added together, help reduce climate change (see here for some top tips: https://www.nrdc.org/stories/how-you-can-stop-global-warming). We can also be kinder to one another to help prevent the world becoming a place of anger, and where no one talks face-to-face anymore. It’s quite quickly becoming somewhere that I fear will just be technologically dependent, so get out once in a while and enjoy what nature has to offer. It sounds strange but once you see the beauty in nature, it’ll make you and others want to save it. We need the motivation to save it.

Most definitely. It needs the generation to work much better together and to agree on the best ways to help. But with the advancements in technology combined with the increased knowledge people have about the environment, it is the best generation to do it

Definitely! Young people seem to care a lot more about climate change than a lot of older individuals, and I hope that we can keep this going throughout all the generations going forward. I just hope that the people who want to help the environment end up in government so that we can make the changes we need to.

I definitely think we are able to save it. Whether we do or not is a completely different matter!
