What a thought… In my opinion, morality stems from your intent. As you didn’t intend for the person to have something bad to happen as you didn’t realise it was opposite day, then I would say that morally you are in the right. The person who you told to do it could be morally in the wrong, if they new it was opposite day and didn’t double check with you!

You should always strive to do nice things regardless of what day it is.

I think just always trying to do nice things for other people is a good approach to life.

I would say that if you ask someone to do something nice on opposites day without realising, and they do something horrible because it’s opposites day, then they’re morally in the wrong. 🙂 If you ask someone to do something nice and you know it’s opposites day… then maybe you’re morally in the wrong. To avoid confusion maybe try and carry out all your nice deeds yourself. You’ll feel better that way too. 🙂

Well, seeing as opposite day doesn’t really exist, then no!

That’s a great question and genuinely something that I have never thought about. If you were able to explain yourself and that you didn’t know that it was ‘opposite day’, it is a genuine misunderstanding so probably is forgivable. If you asked someone to do something ‘nice’ on opposite day but you knew it was opposite day, that’s when I think you’re probably morally in the wrong, because you are knowingly asking someone to do something bad or mean.

Ha! Not at all – since ‘opposite day’ is not real and is in any case self-declared – if you thought it was a normal day, then it’s a normal day, and you tried to a good thing so good for you! Highly recommend declaring every day a normal day and being nice to people generally.

I don’t think so, but you’re better off just doing something nice for someone rather than asking someone else to do it! 🙂
