I think if I hadn’t been accepted to medical school I would have studied something completely different like maths! Who knows where I’d be now!

I think I’d be a secondary school teacher. I really like explaining complicated things to people and seeing the lightbulb moment when they understand it. I think its a really rewarding career and wouldn’t be where I was today if it hadn’t have been for my teachers.

I’d probably be a baker. It’d be awesome to have my own bakery.

I love travelling so much, I think I would really like to have been a tour guide on various trips abroad! This means that I could travel and teach people about all the cultural delights a country has to offer. Or maybe even teaching science abroad for a bit, to people in less developed areas

If I weren’t doing a combo of clinical work and research, I’d have done just clinical work and if I weren’t doing ENT surgery, maybe another form of surgery instead.

In another life I would have been a teacher or done something with wildlife conservation. I also love making coffee and have been on a barista course recently and found it such fun – so maybe working in coffee shop!

I would’ve loved to work with cats somehow. Maybe at a Cats Protection branch helping look after all the cats and kittens who need homes.

I’ve thought about doing plenty of other jobs. Sometimes you don’t get the job you want so it’s good to have other ideas of things your interested in.
In the past I’ve thought about being a Paramedic, a Brewer, a film-maker and a bike mechanic.

I suspect I would have tried to teach – but not sure if I would have been any good at it. I do enjoy doing some teaching now through supervisions and lectures, but it’s not the same as managing a whole classroom of teenagers! I imagine it must be a very challenging but rewarding job. Other than that I would have liked to be an explorer (if you can get paid for that) or food critic (what could possibly go wrong?!).

A photographer for sure. For either wildlife or football. For wildlife it looks amazing, but the reality is that you have to spend a tonne of time sat still (which I’m awful at!) waiting for an animal to appear. But for football you get paid to watch football and take photographs. That would be amazing!
