It’s been great to be reminded of the amount of enthusiasm out there for science, it’s really gratifying to be able to try and answer any questions you all have about science and being a scientist.
Also, some of these questions are really hard and i have to do a bit of learning to make sure i’m correct and to try answer them, i’m learning new things too!

Its fascinating to see what questions you all come up with as it shows what young people are interested in. Your questions also make me think about topics that I may not be directly involved in but are important to health care generally. And i am learning loads myself by reading everyone else’s answers!!

Mainly interacting with an age group that we don’t see often at public engagement events – this is possibly because you lot are all studying so hard, and quite rightly need seem real down time at the weekends! It’s been amazing to be able to share my work with a much wider audience – clearly you are all interested in science and based on the insightful questions being thrown at me I think the future of science is very bright! This event has also been a timely reminder of why I came into science in the first place and why I love it so much – thank you for your enthusiasm!

I love the questions you’re all asking. Somethings I’ve expected but others have either been challenging to answer or are things that are quite easy but I just never think of them on a daily basis. They’re great! It’s so awesome to see that so much of you are interested in science, even to the point of asking for advice about how to become trained in a certain specialism. It’s brilliant!

Getting to talk to so many enthusiastic students! And also talking to the ones who start out less enthusiastic and more trying to play the joker. Usually they end up getting involved and asking some good questions too eventually!

I’ve loved all the weird questions! It’s made me look into things I’d never have thought to otherwise. My google search history has certainly become more varied! Reading everyone’s answers has been really interesting too.

I most enjoy the variety of questions we get, from about our work, to what we had for breakfast to how the universe was formed. The questions are so varied and really good!
