Agree with others, stay in the shade as much as possible, wear light clothing that covers the skin, including a hat. Sit in a breeze or use a fan (have a look at latent heat of evaporation to see why this helps), and drink plenty of water/cool drinks
Ideally I’d just sit in a swimming pool all day. But I feel obligated to tell you not to do this if it’s at the hottest part of the day, and remember to re-apply suncream regularly. 🙂 If you don’t have a swimming pool the others have given great answers!

If you had access to air conditioning why wouldn’t you use it? 🙂
If you want to stay outside though, best follow the advice of the others above, and try not to move around too much – generating your own heat won’t help.
Just to add – if you have a pet dog, please don’t shut it in a car on a hot day – heat stress can be lethal to dogs kept like this and it’s a horrendous way to die!
Drink water, stay in the shade and don’t move around too much! And if you have a pool handy, hanging out in the water is the best way of all. Just remember that you still need to drink and stay shaded, or you’ll regret it!
