Any English Literature lesson where we had to read a book I hated. Silas Marner springs to mind. The other class got to read Pride and Prejudice and then watch the BBC adaptation with Colin Firth in it. We had to listen to them watch this through the wall whilst plodding our way through Silas Marner – torture.

Like Marianne definitely English! I found writing and grammar really hard. There isn’t a right answer like in maths!

I was pretty rubbish at French
It been useful since when I’ve been on holiday and when I was in Canada we were in a bilingual (French and English) city so I used it a bit there. I probably cant write French anymore but i can just about get by speaking and reading.

Everything to do with writing as well !!! I grow up in France and I tell you studying French is even hard for us, I hated it at school, I was not a big fan of English and Spanish either.

I hated religious education. My teacher was an ex-nun and she was pretty horrible to me. My biology teacher was lovely and she used to get me out of religion class by pretending that I needed to help with something in the biology department! She was great!

I did not enjoy PE at all at school, because I never felt like I was good at any sports. I realise now that I just wasn’t trying the right ones – now I love yoga, running and cycling and find them a really good way to de-stress from work 🙂

I struggled with maths because it was taught in quite an abstract way without any real world examples. Now I actually enjoy it, because I use it all the time to figure out what my experiments are telling me! I loved languages but bizarrely found French much more difficult than German. I think it’s because our French teacher kept changing and so the lessons were really disjointed. It also helped that our German teacher was actually German!

English. I found it really dull and we just spent lessons pulling apart books and trying to establish the hidden meaning of them. I didnt really care about the hidden meaning I just wanted to read and enjoy the story for what it said!
And pottery – I was just rubbish at it!

Art or Design and Technology. My drawing skills are pretty terrible so I never enjoyed those subjects at all.

I have to say that the subject I most disliked was English.

I hated Shakespeare! the books we had to study were all pretty boring (to me at least) and writing essays was something I always hated. Which is probably why I liked Music and drama more than anything else – a lot less writing!!
