I wanted to study mental health as it is something which has affected my family in the form of Depression and also Autism (although autism isn’t a mental health condition, it quite often resides within that field for research purposes as there are many conditions associated with it that are).

I personally find the human brain fascinating, having worked in hospital laboratories for over 10 years previously, I was in contact with patients more and more when working at the clinics as part of my role. During that time I could see how mental health played a huge part in some ones physical health as well as motivation and so as I developed this insight and became more and more interested in this aspect, I decided to move across to research in order to study mental health further.
