Definitely dogs. But I want a pet so badly at the moment that I’d consider getting a cat… Basically anything fluffy!!

Definitely dogs. Though my neighbours have a cat who greets me every day after work and loves to sit on my lap when I’m sitting in the garden, so I make an exception for him!

They are both incredible species and make great pets, but I think I have more of a ‘soul connection’ with cats – the independence they have, and that they typically sleep most of the day and come to life at night!
Individual cat personalities can however be VERY different; I’ve met cats that are more like dogs (one of mine used to follow me incessantly around the house and whenever I was away, she would sit outside my bedroom door and stare at it waiting for me to come home – this was a problem because she would forget to eat!). My other cat was totally neurotic, and much preferred her own company to that of humans or any other animals – but if I was ill or feeling down, she would always come and sit with me – I’d like to think she knew how I felt and was trying to help. I think there is still so much left to discover about how other animals think, feel, and sense our own emotions and behaviours. I just wish I could have a conversation with my patients and understand what they want!

I LOVE cats. I do like dogs but Iโm very much a cat person. I have a lovely FIV-positive cat called Sylvester! Heโs not allowed outside because his immune system is compromised so heโs ideal to live in a flat with us!

I wasnโt sure about cats but my daughter was desperate for one a few years ago which is when we got our black cat from the local rescue centre. Cats definitely have full on personalities so she fits into our family perfectly.

Dogs all the way. I’d have a dog in a nanosecond if I thought I had the time to look after one properly. I just make do with visiting all my dog owning friends as often as I can.

I like both and all animals, but if I had to choose one, It would be a dog (as long as I can bring it to work!)
