I think we could certainly help to slow down global warming. There are lots of things we can do to help slow down climate change. Most of our energy at the moment comes from fossil fuels. These include coal, oil and natural gas. Cars burn lots of these, meaning that we should aim to walk or cycle wherever possible. When we do need to drive, car sharing is a good option. We could also take shorter showers (to use less energy), plant more trees (to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere) and recycle (to reduce methane released by landfill). Efforts by the government to reduce fossil fuel useage over the coming years involve switching to ‘greener’ energy sources such as solar power and hydroelectric power. Electric cars may also replace those with petrol and diesel engines. However, all countries would need to make a combined effort and work together for these measures to be effective in slowing down global warming.

We can definitely slow it down. As our scientific knowledge and engineering skills progress we will be able to develop new ways to address this. I suspect in our lifetime we will be using electric cars only, although I think the technology for this still requires some development. We will get better at using renewable energy resources and improve our recycling processes – can you believe in some parts of the country we still don’t have curbside glass recycling?

I definitely think so. There’s a great website that helps talk through exactly what to do to help slow down global warming and climate change. Have a look, tell your friends, tell your family and do it all yourself! https://davidsuzuki.org/what-you-can-do/top-10-ways-can-stop-climate-change/

We certainly have the capacity to slow down or stop the elements of global warming that are exacerbated by human activity, but certain aspects of global warming may be beyond our control (at least for now). I am optimistic that even if we can’t stop global warming, we will figure out a way to adapt to this change (if there is time) or move somewhere else. I like this planet though, and I want us to do everything we can to protect it, not just for us, but for all the other amazing species that evolved on this neat little ball of rock.

yes, to a degree. the Earth will always experience Global warming to a degree, as well as cooling. But this is natural and negated.

We can certainly stop the damaging effects of Global warming caused by humans over time, but in the first instance I think we would just be able to reduce it and slow it down. But this would require people to work together and to make a concerted effort to reduce each contributing factor over time until this is all negated.
