I’m really lucky to have a job I enjoy and work with some great colleagues and friends. I’m not sure what my dream job is but being a scientist must be pretty close!
Honestly speaking, my dream job would involve eating much more ice cream and living somewhere sunny, near a beach… other than that – I am doing what I love and enjoy the work I do a lot. It is intellectually stimulating, challenging and also fulfilling, which is all I could ask for in terms of a job.
I had never heard of flow cytometry – measuring cells – before I started working in the lab so it wasn’t my dream job but I did always want to work in science. I guess I imagined myself as more of a marine biologist and getting to travel the world on ships. The closest I have been is working with crab and fish samples. Although, there are some jobs in my field in Hawaii so I guess you never know!!
No! I didn’t even know my job existed when I was at school. But now I’ve discovered it I can’t imagine doing anything else. I get to work on clinical trials in cancer, which is something that I think most people feel strongly about. It’s nice to know you are part finding cures to one of the biggest non-infectious illnesses that affects humans.

My dream job is to be a lecturer. I really like doing research and teaching and that would enable me to combine the two!
